The two suspects accused of killing 69-year-old Raffaele Mastrogiuseppe in a farm attack at Houtpoort on October 3, appeared in the Heidelberg Magistrate’s Court on November 23.
They are facing charges of murder, house robbery and illegal possession of a firearm and stolen goods.
During the initial court proceedings, the accused applied for bail, upon which the case was postponed until December 10 for a ruling on the bail application. While they remain in custody, the investigation continues and police are hoping to make more arrests as the case progresses.
