Police are investigating a case of common assault after a person was attacked by two assailants in Second Avenue on November 5.

According to police spokesperson Sgt Nellie Dwaba, the victim had visited a local supermarket and was walking along the road, when he was grabbed by two men in the street. As he fell to the ground, the attackers kicked him in the face and snatched his wallet, which contained cash and all his bank cards. The attackers fled on foot.

A robbery occurred at a shop situated in MacKenzieville on November 5. The complainant allege that he was about to receive a cash payment from a customer, when a suspect ran into the shop and grabbed the money. The suspect is known by the shop owner and he was able to provide police with the suspect’s residential address. No arrest has been made.

Police are investigating a rape case, following an incident where a female victim from Alrapark was lured by a man with the prospect of employment. The incident occurred at Witkop on November 5, after the suspect phoned the victim to inform her of a possible job interview. Upon her arrival at the address, she was reportedly sexually assaulted. No arrest has been made.

A suspect was arrested for house breaking and burglary, after an incident which occurred in Extension 2 on November 6. According to Sgt Dwaba, the complainant received a telephone call about a break-in at his house and went to investigate. As he arrived, he reportedly spotted a suspect vehicle in the street and as he approached the vehicle, the driver hastily drove off. Patrolling members of Nigel CPF were immediately alerted and they came across two males who were found running towards a nearby rugby veld. They managed to apprehend one of the suspects and when the police arrived, he was arrested and charged with housebreaking. The suspect was able to provide police with the identities of the other two suspects and the investigation continues.

Police are investigating a case of robbery, after a resident from Mawag, Alrapark was robbed of his cellphone on November 7. No arrests have been made.

Two suspects were arrested, following a robbery which occurred in Alrapark on November 8. The victim was reportedly robbed by two young men when he visited a local shop.

Three suspects were arrested in Alrapark on November 9 for being in possession of drugs. The arrests were made by patrolling metro police officers.

A burglary occurred at a flat in Second Avenue on November 9 where several household items were reported stolen.
A carjacking was reported to the police, following an incident which occurred in Vorsterskroon on November 9 where the driver of a delivery van was hijacked by two African men, while making a delivery at a factory.

Police are investigating a case of stock theft, after eight cows were stolen from a kraal at Blue Valley on November 10.

Two assault cases, which occurred in Alrapark on November 10, were reported to the police and are being investigated.

A suspect was arrested for assault, after he attacked a pedestrian in Alrapark on November 11. The victim reportedly sustained head injuries while being stabbed with a broken bottle.

Police are investigating a business robbery which occurred on November 11 in Laver Street when two armed men robbed the business owner of cash and cigarettes. No arrests have been made.
