MEC Khoza pleased with progress made at Alrapark substance abuse Day Clinic

Five weeks after she officially launched the Alrapark Community Based Substance Abuse Day Clinic, Gauteng MEC for Social Development Nandi Mayathula Khoza returned to fulfill one of the promises she made that day - to evaluate progress made by the social workers to increase the accessibility of treatment interventions.

MEC Khoza also attended the graduation ceremony of four graduates – John Stuurman, Meschack Tshabalala, Tshabang Someketse and Palesa Lebese, who successfully completed their eight week rehabilitation programme.

“I am pleased with what I see here today, but remember that your immediate focus should be placed on the aftercare programme. You now have to become self-reliant and independent in order not to fall back on old, bad habits,” MEC Khoza said, after congratulating the four.
