Public Protector confirms Lesedi visit

The Public Protector, advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane confirmed that she will be conducting a Public Protector’s Stakeholder Consultative Forum on February 17 at the Ratanda Multi-Purpose Community Hall.

This initiative will provide a platform for residents to bring issues they may have with Lesedi Local Municipa-lity (LLM) under the attention of the external state institution tasked to investigate  misconduct in any state affairs and all spheres of government including that of public administration in the country.
The National Stakeholder Consultative Forum forms part of ongoing activities of the Pu-blic Protector which seek leverage stakeholder relations for enhanced service delivery to the people of South Africa.
The objectives of the Public Protector Stakeholder Dialogue Roadshow (PPSDR) 2016/17 includes a formal introduction of Adv Mkhwebane to stakeholders.
Mkhwebane will also provide her proposed vision to stakeholders and solicit stakeholders’ views and inputs on her  proposed vision, with a view to incorporating their contributions, where necessary, into the final PPSA Strategic Plan 2017/2022 and Annual Performance Plan 2017/2018.
Mkhwebane will provide an opportunity for a face-to-face and unmediated interaction between herself and the relevant stakeholders with the hope of laying a foundation for cordial relationship between the PPSA and stakeholders.
The day’s proceedings will get underway at 09:00 with a meeting between relevant government departments and the Public Protector while the community is encouraged to take part in the open session that will start at 10:00.
Meanwhile it was confirmed to HERAUT that several delegates of Mkhwebane’s office had been in Heidelberg over the last few weeks and that investigations into misconduct at LMM is being investigated.
