Argument over memory card leads to murder

Farm worker stabs his victim with kitchen knife.

A 50-year-old farm worker of the Poortje farming area was arrested for murder after stabbing a 30-year-old co-worker.

According to Captain Thivhulawi Tshilate (spokesperson) of Heidelberg SAPS, the men were arguing about a memory card on 12 December at around 13:00.

The deceased apparently hit the suspect with an iron rod and ran in the direction of the Poortje Road. The suspect grabbed a knife from the kitchen and ran after the victim. He then stabbed him twice in the upper body.

The suspect will appear today (December 14) in Heidelberg Magistrate’s Court.
