Pedestrian struck in Voortrekker Street
The lower part of Heidelberg central came to a standstill.
A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Voortrekker Street this morning at approximately 08:45.
Emer-G-Med personnel were first to react, and treated the man who sustained multiple soft tissue injuries to his leg, arm, hands and head.
He was taken to Heidelberg Hospital.
Meanwhile it was confirmed that the vehicle, an Opel, which struck the man was not licensed.
Police have opened a case of reckless driving as well as driving an unlicensed vehicle.
