COSATU resorts to peaceful protest outside Dunnottar court

Members of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) joined forces with the South African Communist Party (SACP) and the African National Congress (ANC) today, to participate in a peaceful protest against violence at Dunnottar Court.

This follows the assault on EMPD officer Col Mbele by a civilian outside a primary school in Dunnottar on August 15.

Chief Superintendent Mbele (who is head of Duduza EMPD) was left traumatised and humiliated by the attack, which occurred front in full view of adults and learners.

The man accused of assaulting Col Mbele appeared in Dunnottar Court on September 8 on the charge of assault (GBH).
