BREAKING NEWS! HAWKS clamped down on another drug manufacturing lab in Nigel

NIGEL - Another drug manufacturing laboratory was discovered on Hallgate smallholdings in the early hours of the morning.

Two Nigerian males aged 36 and 45 respectively, were arrested by the HAWKS.

This follows months of investigation by the HAWKS, after the discovery of a drug manufacturing laboratory less than 200m away at the old Grace Church in July last year.

According to HAWKS Gauteng spokesperson Capt Ndivhuwo Mulamu, the crime intelligence unit followed up on a tip off they received some time ago, which probed the investigation. They raided the property around 01:00 on September 2 and seized raw products (in the manufacturing of CAT), to the value of around R1,5 million.

In an outside room on the property, several drums and buckets full of chemicals and acids were found alongside the manufacturing equipment. Ovens, a freezer and coolers were found inside the main house.

Two men were arrested and charged with manufacturing and dealing of drugs. They will appear in Nigel Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
