The accident involving two vehicles, occurred on the corner of Somerset Street and Eeufees Avenue and caused sudden dealys, but members from Nigel CPF arrived to regulate traffic.
Nigel Emergency Services were immediately dispatched and arrived to find the female driver still trapped inside her car. She sustained head and neck injuries, and was later transported to Life Suikerbosrand Hospital in Heidelberg by ambulance.
The driver of the other car and two children sustained less serious injuries, but were also transported to hospital by ambulance.
A family member of the female driver told HERAUT that both drivers were underway to drop their children off at school (Hoërskool John Vorster and Nigel Primary), but it is not yet clear what exactly may have caused the accident.
