EMM mayor announces mayoral committee
NIGEL - The executive Mayor of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality councillor Mzwandile Masina officially announced his mayoral committee this morning.
The announcement was made while delivering his acceptance speech at a special council meeting held in Germiston.
“In putting together this team we considered various issues among which was capability, gender and age,” Masina explained.
“This team has been put together to optimise service delivery. We will continuously assess our performance so that the necessary interventions can be made timeously. After all every healthy organisation must reflect on its performance on a regular basis to determine if the machinery remains relevant to the course,” Masina added.
“After extensive consultation within the ruling party, the ANC, we have resolved that these are councillors who will be equal to the task of accelerating services.”
The new mayoral committee is as follows:
Finance and Economic Development – Doctor Xhakaza; infrastructure services – Robert Mashego; transport planning – Petrus Mabunda; water, sanitation and energy-Tiisetso Nketle; city planning – Madihlaba Masele; community services – Dorah Mlambo; human Settlements – Lesiba Mpya; environment and waste management services -Ndosi Shongwe; corporate and shared services – Khosi Mabaso and community safety- Viviene Chauke.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the colleagues who have served us with aplomb in the past years, and wish the new team luck in discharging their duties,” Masina concluded. e
