Seven children injured in taxi accident on Springs Road

The taxi were carrying seven learners (six from Nigel High and one from Nigel Primary) and was on route to Duduza, when the driver of a VW Golf allegedly swerved in front of the taxi, causing it to veer off the road. The taxi crash-landed in a ditch next to the road. There is however, no sign of another vehicle which may have been involved.

Nigel Emergency Services workers are on the scene, where they are treating the injured learners and taxi driver. There are no fatalities.

Motorists are advised to used alternative routes, as traffic in both ways are severely affected.
