Nigel Town Hall renovations to be completed end of March, says EMM

NIGEL - EMM spokesperson Themba Gadebe said in an email last week, that restoration work at Nigel Town Hall is expected to be done and finalised by the end of March.

He reacted to a recent article on the dilapidated state of Nigel Town Hall (Totale verval by Stadsaal – HERAUT February 3) by saying the break-in had been duly reported to SAPS Nigel on December 17 and a month later, the investigating officer indicated that an inspection had been carried out in order to proceed with the investigation.
Gadebe also stated that renovations to the hall have already started, with the roof and guttering being completed.

“The installation of burglar bars, refurbishment of the stage, tiling of the back stage rest rooms and lighting in the main hall are however, some of the work that is yet to be carried out,” he explained.
