Two left injured after crash at controversial crossing
NIGEL - Two people were injured in an accident involving two cars at the military crossing this morning.
The accident occurred around 07:50 at the controversial crossing that gives way to traffic from four directions. There are no road signs, speed breakers or other indicators to warn motorists and over the years, there have been uncountable accidents and many lives have been claimed by the crossing.
According to bystanders, the accident occurred when the driver of a Kia that was heading in the direction of Springs, collided with a VW Golf that was turning right towards Dunnottar from the opposite direction. The driver and passenger of the Golf sustained injuries and were stablised by paramedics on the scene before taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance. The driver of the Kia was unscathed.
The accident will be investigated.
