Nigel CPF to improve functionality after official Induction

NIGEL - In an effort to build capacity and improve functionality in Nigel Community Policing Forum (CPF) for an intensified war against crime, the Gauteng Department of Public Safety (GDPS) held its official induction for the executive committee members of Nigel CPF at the lecture room of SAPS Nigel on September 15.

The event was attended by Lt Col Z Thete, Capt Zacharia Nkabelane and Sgt Nellie Dwaba from SAPS Nigel, as well as Natasha Steenkamp (CPF chairperson), Michelle Cronje (secretary), Vanessa Bamford (deputy secretary), Mohammed Iqbal (treasurer), Delia Nel (public relations) and members of SAPS cluster boards.

The induction programme was presented by Musi Dumakude, MEC for public safety and he mainly focused on the administrative functioning of the CPF.

Some key issues covered by the induction included objectives and responsibilities of the CPF; meeting procedures; funding; and the compliance to legislative framework (Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations).
