Alrapark Feeding scheme provides for all

Garden of Children Feeding Scheme (GCFS) is a non-profit community based project that over the past 10 years, provides daily nutritious meals to destitute children and elderly residents from the Almac Development Centre in Alrapark.

The GCFS provides daily meals to destitute children and adults within the Alrapark community, but has welcomed people outside the Alrapark community to join as beneficiaries.

Feeding schemes usually provides only a small amount of food to help relieve hunger, but through the support of several sponsors, Rashida Essop and her team is not only able to feed over 300 people daily, but they also provide them with clothes, blankets and food parcels from time to time.

“Our mission is to maximise the nutritional intake of children and adults on a daily basis,” Rashida said.

GCFS however, wants to reach out to destitute families outside the Alrapark community and Rashida has welcomed people from Nigel and surrounds to join GCFS as beneficiaries.
