Speedy fire fighters prevent house from burning

The speedy action of fire fighters from Lesedi Fire and Rescue and officers of Crime Stop prevented a fire from spreading to the house where the residents were still sleeping. A pedestrian saw the smoke just before 08:00 this morning and alerted the control room. Fire fighters and security officers from Crime Stop came to the rescue and the front gate was lifted off its rail. The fire apparently started in a trailer that was filled with leaves and lawn clippings. The trailer was in a carport next to the garage and house. The fire fighters managed to contain the fire as it was starting to spread towards the garage. The residents had guests from Cape Town over for the school holidays and everyone had a sleep in when the fire started. They were surprised and shocked to find security officers and fire fighters outside their front door.
