Police and partners clean up streets of Heidelberg

Five homeless children were taken off the streets and three criminals arrested in a joined operation between members of the SAPS and various partners in the early morning hours of October 29. Heidelberg- and Ratanda Police joined hands with the
Department of Social Development, Lesedi Traffic Department, Gauteng Traffic Police, SANCA, Youth Crime Prevention Desk, Department of Community Safety and Heidelberg Community Police Forum.
Operation Thibela was conducted throughout the night into the early morning hours and five kids between the ages of 12 and 17 years were handed over to social workers of the Department of Social Development for further intervention.
