A full joint operation with different law enforcement agencies and stakeholders has joined forces to fight crime in the area.
On February 3, an Operation Okae Molao briefing parade was held at the weighbridge on the N3 highway for Heidelberg and Ratanda SAPS officials.
Lt-Col Muzikayise Nkabinde (operational commander of the operation) addressed the gathering and said Heidelberg and Ratanda SAPS will tackle and stop any form of crime in its tracks.
Nkabinde spelled out the different areas where attention will be given preference in the operation.
One group will focus on drugs, narcotics and illegal immigrants in the Ratanda area and the second group will focus on roadblocks and vehicle checkpoints in Heidelberg.
Operation Okae Molao will also continue to make sure all Covid-19 regulations are adhered to at all times.
