Nigel SAPS is investigating a case of business robbery and attempted murder.

Police are investigating a case of business robbery and attempted murder after the owner of a scrapyard was attacked and robbed of his belongings when he entered his business premises on January 17.

The owner and one of his employees were shot.

According to Neliswa Dwaba, communications officer of Nigel SAPS, two armed men waited for the owner to get out of his vehicle and followed him as he entered his place of business.

Both of the assailants pointed their firearms at the owner, who tried to fight back, and shot him in the upper body.

A third accomplice then appeared at the front gate and started to shoot randomly, shooting an employee in the upper body as well.

The men fled the scene on foot, taking the owner’s laptop and an undisclosed amount of cash.
