Illegal netting concern to local fishers
Members of the club are concerned about the illegal netting taking place in the area.
NIGEL – Members of the Damduiker Fishing Club came across foreign nationals on December 19 who were netting at the Merach Pan Dam.

“We as the Damduikers did not take this situation lightly,” said Dominic Magalhaes of the fishing club.
“We are against it and say no to the netting of fish. It is heartbreaking to see how the fish gets killed,” Magalhaes continued.
“We request our authorities to help stop this type of crime from happening around our dams. We feel it is unacceptable and request further help before we take the law into our own hands.”
