Six-year-old missing child sought

The child was reported as missing when he did not return home after school.

A six-year-old boy, Lwandile Mavuso, was reported missing at the Tsakani SAPS on November 23.

The boy’s father, Sandile Mavuso (28), alleged he was told by the child’s grandmother that his son went to school at Michael Zulu Primary School as normal that day and was in great health.

Sandile became concerned when Lwandile did not return home from school later that day.

When he went to the school, the teachers informed him that his son had indeed attended school and went home afterwards.

The whereabouts of the boy were unknown and all roleplayers were informed.

A sector vehicle, the dog unit and the duty officer searched the residential area but could not find him.

An aunt of the child informed the search team that the child’s mother had contacted her previously and asked about the closing dates of the school.

She said she wanted Lwandile to visit her in Witbank.

When the mother was informed that the family had a gathering planned for December 25, she allegedly became angry.

Anyone with information regarding the child’s whereabouts is urged to contact the police on 011 363 5347 or 08600 10111 or make use of the MySAPS app.
