Cambridge beats Nigel Shambrocks 4-1

Cambridge won its match against Nigel Shamrocks with a final score of 4-1.

The Cambridge Football Club took on Nigel Shamrocks Football Club in a match hosted by the MacKenzieville Alrapark Football Association (MAFA) on June 20.

The match took place at the Mackenzieville Stadium before the restrictions on the sport were implemented. Cambridge won 4-1.

The Shamrocks, who currently occupy eighth place on the log, took on Cambridge who currently places in the top half of the log in the MAFA league.

Cambridge took control of the match from the onset, with its striker, Boy Mkhonazi, putting his team at an early 2-0 lead.

Cambridge, who enjoyed the lion share of possession, went into halftime 3-0 to the good.

“Our players became too comfortable with their lead,” said Ignatius Maphike from the coaching staff.

“This momentarily relaxed play enabled the Shamrocks to score. With the defending team scoring, our players luckily had a wake-up call and turned up the heat.”

“It’s very difficult to play against a team such as this,” said coach Dennis Metsana after the game. “They have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I hope my team will pull up its socks and take its matches more seriously going forward.

“Our club also wants to wish our president, Abdallah Bizza Rocker, strength and health as he was very ill lately and we hope that he makes a speedy recovery.”
