Prepare for planned water supply interruption

New dates for the planned water supply interruption confirmed, Nigel area affected as well.

The municipality would like to notify all residents and businesses of Lesedi Municipality that there is a planned water supply interruption from Rand Water from June 22 to June 23.

Rand Water would like to do tie-in operations at the M10, M7 and Heidelberg Station into existing pipelines to commission the 14km section of the newly installed M2 pipeline.

There will be no water supply to Lesedi Municipality, Heidelberg and the surrounding areas. The Nigel area will be affected by the interruption as well.

The shutdown duration is expected to be 26 hours. If there are any delays from Rand Water the affected communities will be made aware.

The municipality would need at least 24 hours additional time to fill the reservoir and restore the water supply to the affected areas.

Therefore, the total water interruption is estimated to last for 50 hours.

Communities are requested to ensure that they make provisions for water in their households for three days.
