Covid-19 relief funds remain available at post offices

Once the fund is approved, it will remain available at the post office until it is collected.

The South African Post Office (SAPO) reported that the payments of the Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) fund will continue after January 31.

The Covid-19 SRD fund is still available, and residents can still collect their funds at any nearby post office.
Communication from SAPO was made after beneficiaries flocked to branches in large numbers.

According to Johan Kruger of SAPO, many people who applied for the Covid-19 SRD relief grant were under the impression that January 29 was the last day they would be able to collect their grant.

He said the Covid-19 SRD relief fund that has been approved will not expire and will remain available at the post offices until it is collected.

“There is no need to rush to the post office to collect your grant. The money will be waiting for you until you are able to collect it. You will receive an SMS notifying you of the date to collect your grant,” said Kruger.
