Lesedi beautifies streets

The aim is to develop and upgrade the entrances as part of working towards an environmentally friendly town.

Malesolo Mojapelo (head: Lesedi parks and gardens) and her team of landscapers have been participating in internationally recognised landscaping practice that focuses on water conservation.

If you recently entered the town, you would have noticed that the entrances have been receiving attention. This includes the use of indigenous or low water consuming plants being a priority. Mojapelo said the aim is to develop and upgrade our entrances as part of working towards an environmentally friendly town.

The project is expected to expand to more areas in order to promote landscaping and beautification and to add value to communities at large. Due to limited resources, delays do occur regarding this project, but employees of Lesedi Parks Department are doing an exceptional job under the circumstances.
Mojapelo said that it is the dual responsibility of all residents to play their part in the beautification and environmental sustainability of our town.

”We strongly believe that joint collaboration from various entities can make our town a better place through greening, so as to bring effective and positive changes towards the environment through this kind of landscaping initiatives,” she said.
