Gymnasts qualify for Gauteng Provincial competition
Gymnasts from the Nigel Gymnastics Club took part in the Eastern Gauteng Regional Competition on July 19 and 20 in Kempton Park.
NIGEL – Gymnasts from the Nigel Gymnastics Club took part in the Eastern Gauteng Regional Competition on July 19 and 20 in Kempton Park. Seven senior gymnasts received their Eastern Gauteng colours during the regionals.
Ruvan Coetsee received first place on the high bar, parallel bar, floor and vault. He also received an overall first place. Kayla Oosthuizen also qualified for her colours. Veronique Da Silva placed sixth overall and first on the beam. Ilené Jones got third place on the floor and an overall fourth place. Zule Geering ended with an overall fifth place and received a third place on the beam.
Alyssa Maritz placed second on vault, third on uneven bars, a first place on the floor and beam with an overall first place. Reneilwe Msiza placed an overall first place with a second place on the vault, third place on uneven bars, floor and beam.
On August 3 and 4 the seven gymnasts will represent their region at the Gauteng provincial competition that will be held in Kempton Park. For more information on the Nigel Gymnastics Club, Charlene Maritz can be phoned on 082 303 6192.
