Emergency workers risked their lives to save people from burning vehicles
It was an afternoon no emergency worker would like to relive and here at the Heraut we would like to salute all the brave men and women who risked their lives to save many people from certain death on August 22.
It was confirmed that three people died on the scene. Many more could have followed a similar fate had it not been for the swift response of emergency personnel.
Below are some photos of the accident scene on the N3 near the Kliprivier off-ramp where no less than six trucks and nine cars crashed:
