Seven bullet wounds confirmed by police

A 35-year-old man was shot and killed near the old Driemanskap railway station outside Heidelberg last night at approximately 21:30, police officials confirmed in a statement.

“The man was found lying dead in a pool of blood with seven bullet wounds to his head and upper body,”  Ekurhuleni East Cluster Communications manager captain Thivhulawi Tshilate said.

Police receive a complaint of the shooting and when officials arrived at the scene they found the man lying in a pool of blood. He was certified dead by an Intermediate Life Support Paramedic from EMER-G-MED.

The suspect and the motive of the shooting is unknown.
