Heidelberg Hospital serves with a smile
A pageant was also on the agenda as part of the campaign.
Staff at Heidelberg Hospital launched the I Serve With a Smile campaign on November 30.
From as early as 07:30, the hospital’s executive committee members began a series of events, starting by serving breakfast to patients.
Delivering her speech, Heidelberg Hospital chief executive Dr Itumeleng Molathlegi commended all parties for the launch’s success.
During lunch, the MEC for the Gauteng Department of Health and Wellness, Nomantu Nkomo Ralehoko, thanked the hospital for adding a pageant to the campaign.
“We are going to copy what you have done here,” she said.
“A smile must come out when you compete. Thank you very much for that part. We will add this element of I Serve With a Smile.
“This is the kind of smile that is needed. A smile that is unforced and which comes out genuinely from yourself to every person you help in the hospital.”
The MEC finished by naming Molathlegi as the hospital’s number one I Serve With a Smile ambassador.
