Visible policing is the way to stop crime

Crime Prevention is the ultimate goal.

A crime prevention information session was held in Devon on November 20.

Kwatsaduza and Botleng Anti Hijacking Unit, Devon SAPS, Devon acting station commander Warrant Officer Sibongile Ndlela, Devon Sector 1 and 2 managers, Crime Information Management and Analysis Centre (CIMAC) and crime prevention wardens engaged the community in ways to fight crime in Devon and Botleng.

Ndlela said there is an influx of people moving into Devon due to new developments and RDP houses being allocated.

“To be successful, we must do regular patrols along the T548, R29, R550 and N17 routes. We need to do visible policing in the area constantly. We also need to be professional in our actions and properly structured,” said Ndlela.

“To prevent crime is our ultimate goal and we need the community to work together to get the desired results.”
