Hijacked car swiftly recovered
Law enforcers’ quick reactions led to an arrest for hijacking.
On August 21, Balfour and Heidelberg joined forces to ensure hijackers felt the brunt of the law.
A vehicle was hijacked outside Balfour and recovered on the R23, close to Heidelberg.
After the hijacking, Balfour’s Delport Securitas, the Heidelberg SAPS, Heidelberg’s Silver Security and AfriForum-Heidelberg called for assistance between themselves.
With quick responses from the security firms, the SAPS and AfriForum personnel, they identified the vehicle and arrested the suspects on the R23.
They took the vehicle to the Balfour Police Station.
The suspects were remanded in custody and will soon appear in the Balfour Magistrate’s Court.
There were no injuries reported.
