Armed robbery leads to shooting.

A Bergsig resident was shot during a house robbery on June 16.

The suspects ran away with the keys to the house and a vehicle.

The victim’s son (18) heard the gunshot and rushed to the scene.

Heidelberg SAPS station commander Colonel Phiwe Ndwandwe indicated that crime is reaching high levels in Heidelberg.

“Various factors come into play. The lack of streetlights, open stands and long grass and vacant homes are all contributing to criminal activities. Be vigilant and take precautionary measures to avoid being a statistic,” said Ndwandwe
