Police recognised for their hard work

Ekurhuleni district commissioner Major General Anna Sithole urged officers to continue fighting crime in the region.

Ekurhuleni police were awarded certificates for their diligent work at Germiston Hall on Tuesday.

The awards were conferred by the Ekurhuleni district commissioner Major General Anna Sithole.

Sithole appreciated the officers and members within Ekurhuleni District for the best performance for the third quarter – October to December – in terms of the Efficiency Index Performance System.

Major General Anna Sithole handed the detective’s certificate to Dunnottar acting station commander Warrant Officer Sunnyboy Twala.

The following stations received certificates of appreciation for ensuring 100% systems utilisation during the third quarter:

• National Photographic Image System (NPIS): Brakpan, Edenpark, Edenvale, Nigel, Norkem Park, Putfontein Sebenza and Tokoza

• Deoxy Rybo Nucleic Acid – DNA (BUCCAL): Alberton, Benoni, Brackendowns, Brakpan, Etwatwa, Kempton Park, Norkem Park, Primrose, Reiger Park, Sebenza, Tembisa, Tokoza and Zonkisizwe

• Integrated case docket management system-ICDMS: Katlehong North and Kwa-Thema

“Station commanders and members are recognised for their efforts, sacrifice and exceptional performance in the fight against crime and other station commanders are further encouraged to take the queue and compete with the best performers so that they can also be counted among the cream of the crop,” said Sithole.

Brigadier Lebogang Machakela handing over an award to Sergeant Mojalefa Radebe from Dunnattor for securing a 16-year imprisonment sentence for tampering with essential infrastructure.
