New DA constituency head for Lesedi announced

The Democratic Alliance in the Vaal region has announced that Lesedi will have a new constituency head.
Wendy Alexander (MP) has been appointed to the position.
Lesedi Constituency follows the same boundaries as Lesedi Local Municipality.
The areas include Ratanda, Heidelberg, Devon/Impumelelo and surrounding rural areas.
Alexander was first elected as a Member of Parliament in the National Assembly at the end of 2022. Alexander was assigned to the Select Committee on Finances.
Alexander was previously a councillor in the Johannesburg Municipality and served as the DA’s chief whip and as the chair of the transport committee.
There is a wealth of experience coupled with an honour’s degree from the University of Pretoria and a Certificate for Leadership in Local Governance from Wits School of Governance.
Alexander is also a board member of the South African Guide Dog Association.
DA’s regional executive thanked Gerry Holtzhausen who temporarily held the position together with his responsibilities as ward councillor since November 2020.
