Weekly local market to be held

The market will boast a wide variety of stalls for residents to enjoy weekly.

A local weekly farmers’ market will kick off on February 25.

The market will be held from 10:00 to 19:00 on plot 179 in Hallgate, with something for everyone to enjoy.

The organiser Edward Moloi encourages people from all vending areas to take part in this initiative.

“With the farmers’ market, we want to have different stalls from residents in the area,” Moloi explained.

“We are still finalising the preparations, such as building the last stalls and cutting the grass around the area,” Moloi said.

“When we are done, we will have everything we need for the market to be successful.”

The market will feature a children’s area, multiple stalls for the vendors and security at the gates.

“The vendors selling food will have to get a certificate from the department of health to sell at the market,” said Moloi.

“We will also have the department, along with all other relevant departments, here before we start to ensure we are doing everything by the book and that the market is a success.”

Anyone interested in hiring a stall can contact Moloi at 079 237 5565.
