Cambridge FC ready for the new year

The club is set to face their next opponent, Ace Ayoba FC on January 14.

Cambridge FC has kicked off the new year with its first training session on January 6.

The team ended 2022 with a loss of 1-0 against the FBS FC.

The club’s first match of the new year will take place on January 14 against Ace Ayoba FC.

“Every year brings new challenges,” said chairperson Ignatius Maphike.

“Every team we face will be strong because everyone in the men’s regional league wants to get promoted. One of the many challenges is that the January transfer window will open where we will see some players leaving and new ones coming in.

“The goal is to get a balanced team so that we can compete.”

The club will also start their junior program on January 9.

The program entails U13, U15 and U17 teams that will compete in the local Mackenzieville Alra-Park Football Association (MAFA) league.

“We invite all interested boys from around Nigel to showcase their talent,” Maphike said.

“We also call on local companies to invest in the team with sponsorships to make the program a success.”
