Cambridge FC faces Hoftech FC

Cambridge FC won the match 2-1.

Cambridge FC faced Hoftech in an away game on October 23.

Cambridge won 2-1. The match was held at the Delville Stadium in Germiston and was the second match of the season.

“Our boys showed their quality from the start,” said chairperson Ignatius Maphike. “They created two clear scoring opportunities within the first five minutes of the game.”

Cambridge winger Reaoboka Sello scored the opening goal of the match.

“They did a very good job of keeping the ball in their possession,” Maphike said. “But Hoftech FC didn’t give us an easy game by fighting back.”

Before the end of the first half, the Cambridge team managed a second goal that was netted in by Minenhle Dineka.

“During the second half of the match, our boys became too relaxed and Hoftech FC managed to score a goal,” Maphike said.

Head coach Godfrey Hermanus said the team needs to be more clinical in front of the goal.

“It’s not always easy to claim three points. Well done boys, you showed character and heart.”
