Cross Country SA’s for Fountain Five Primary learner

Fountains Five learner Katleho Khumalo is destined for more awards.

Katleho Khumalo (14), a Grade Seven learner from Fountains Five Primary School in Ratanda is a class athlete in the making.

Katleho participated in an inter-house athletics meeting in August where he placed first in the cross-country event.

Thereafter Katleho participated in the Sedibeng District cross-country event at Phoenix High School. He again tasted victory.

Khumalo was invited to the provincial cross-country event on September 3 in Kagiso, Krugersdorp.

Katleho Khumalo will be competing at the national cross-county championships in East London.

On the big stage, Khumalo came second and with all his outstanding results, he has been invited to participate in the SA National Cross Country Championships in East London on October 1.

He will be running the 4km race.

The principal of Fountains Five Primary School, Zodwa Zulu, is proud of Katleho’s achievements.

Katleho’s three coaches Izaac Mofokeng, Busiswe Dlamini and Maria Mollo have been working non-stop to ensure that he is ready for the nationals.

“I love running, I started in Grade R.”
