EMPD registers skyrocketing record of speedsters

The EMPD Speed Enforcement Section recorded at least 86 948 cases of excessive speeding during August this year.

In the east north and southern region of the city, metro police officers operating fixed and mobile speed cameras recorded almost 90 000 motor vehicles driven at excessive speed.

“In the eastern region 18 956 were recorded, in the southern region it was 31 753 and in the northern region, it was 36 239 cases. The anti-speed operation continues in the City of Ekurhuleni and all law-breakers will be brought to book,” said Deliwe Ndlovu, speaking for the EMPD.
