Rand Water schedules planned maintenance on S4 pipeline

Rand Water has scheduled the planned maintenance on its S4 Pipeline to tie-in a new portion of the pipeline to the existing S4 Pipeline.

Rand Water has scheduled planned maintenance on its S4 pipeline to tie-in a new portion of the pipeline to the existing S4 pipeline.

The 53-hour project will commence from 17:00 on August 11 until 22:00 on August 13.

The S4 pipeline runs from the Mapleton booster pumping station to Van Dyk Park.

The new portion of S4 pipeline that will be tied-in runs from Van Dyk Park to Rynfield.

The following municipal customers will experience water supply shortages during this period: Ekurhuleni, Tshwane, Thembisile Hani, Victor Khanye, Govan Mbeki, and Lesedi.

Other customers who will be affected include:

• Corobrick Transvaal (Pty) Ltd

• RCL Foods Consumer (Pty) Ltd

• Sammy Marks Museum

• Spoornet

• Savannah Country Estate Home.

Rand Water has formally informed the affected municipal customer Johannesburg Water by issuing the 21-day notice in order to allow them to execute appropriate contingency plans.

Arrangements are being made for alternate water supply to affected areas. Johannesburg Water ended the statement by saying they would like to appologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.
