Youth celebrated at event t in Vischkuil
Health and social issues addressed at Youth Day event.
Lesedi Local Municipality, Lesedi Multi-Sector Programme and the Department of Health with St Martins Drop-in Centre hosted a Youth Day event in Vischkuil on June 29.
The event was targeted at the youth and their parents.
Several speakers from various institutions and organisations took their time speaking to the attendees on health and social issues.
Rose Mathabela and Josephina Phosa from the Lesedi Department of Health addressed those in attendance about youth-friendly services offered by the local clinic as well as healthy eating habits.
Nthabiseng Khambola presented a promotion of the library services offered by the Lesedi Local Municipality.
There were submissions about substance abuse and a community development workers programme by Julia Mkhonza and a motivational message from Molefe Mkhwebane from Men’s Forum.
After the meeting, various community members were tested for Covid-19, TB, HIV/Aids or had their blood pressure checked
Safe sex products were also distributed to the community.
