SAPS commemorates Child Protection Week

Police address violence against children.

On June 4, Captain Mzwandile Blose and Warrant Officer Frank Mqosini from Heidelberg SAPS visited the library at Ratanda Ext Seven as part of Child Protection Week.

The aim was to address children on their rights and render child protection services to the youth.

SAPS celebrates Child Protection Week annually in honour of children’s rights as articulated by the Constitution.
The SAPS are ready to protect women and children from any kind of abuse, such as bullying, gender-based violence (GBV), exploitation, neglect or violence.

Protecting children from violence, exploitation and abuse is not only a basic value but also an obligation set out in Article 28 of the South African Constitution.
