Heidelberg SAPS Det Sgt Musa Sydwell Maluleke has secured a conviction in a robbery case he investigated.
The robbery took place at a local business last year.
According to the accused, he was forced to hand over the money to the robbers.
When the details and statement given looked out of place, Maluleke delved deeper into the case and circumstances. It was then discovered the accused worked hand in hand with the robbers.
The accused appeared in the Heidelberg Magistrate’s Court, where he was sentenced to three years’ correctional supervision and placed under house arrest.
Coupled with the sentence, the accused was ordered to perform community services without any form of compensation.
