What does your life represent?

What are you really building with this life of yours?

“Your life, my life, the life of each one of us is going to serve as either a warning or an example. A warning of the consequences of neglect, self-pity, lack of direction and ambition…or an example of talent put to use, of discipline self-imposed, and of objectives clearly perceived and intensely pursued.” Jim Rohn

When we are born, the world sing praises celebrating our arrival. This means our arrival on this earth is a sign that a new gift has just arrived. When you die, the world cries and mourns your passing as it represents a loss.

Do you really believe at this point, wherever you are in life now that you are on the right track, doing the right things to get you where you are meant to be? What are you really building with this life of yours? I personally believe that our lives are a raw material out of which we can create wonderful experiences with.

If your life were to end now, God forbid, would the next generation use it as a warning of how not to live or as an example of how to live? You see, every day we have a choice of how our lives will be used by others.

Will it be used as a warning of the consequences of neglect, hopelessness, carelessness, directionlessness or as a good example of talent put to use, objectives clearly perceived and intensely pursued? Getting your life to count starts with being mindful and writing down the things you are curious about. As you may have heard, “Curiosity breeds invention”.

Once you’ve written down the list, ask yourself this question: “Which of these items can I dedicate my spare weekends reading and enquiring about?” the answer to that question is the beginning of your purposeful life!
