Groet die Grotman 2 is Lefra’s third Cellar Concert and will be livestreamed on June 7 at 5pm.

In Groet die Grotman 2, the differences between men and women are portrayed in a hilarious way.
Women are still the gatherers (especially of useless information) and men are still the hunters (from a goat to a television show).
“Men and women laugh at each other in Groet die Grotman 2, and that’s exactly what makes this production so popular,” said writer and director Frans Swart.
“It can certainly be said that we are doing marriage counselling in a comical way.
“The fact that Grotman has to make his world bigger to fit into Elize’s world and the fact that Elize has to make her world somewhat smaller creates many comedic situations.
“The original Groet de Grotman still holds the record for the Afrikaans theatre production that has had the most performances over the longest period – more than 1 000 performances in 10 years.”
After resting for almost a decade, the Grotman decided to make his comeback.
“Here I am again.
“I’m out of my cave and I have many new stories to tell you,” the Grotman said.
