Rand Show celebrates 125 years of flair

The 2019 Rand Show, in its 125th year, promises a world of adventure for everyone.

The Rand Show, dubbed ‘Joburg’s Best Day Out’, is set to take place from April 19 to 28 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec.

The event is one of the oldest brand marketing and lifestyle events of its kind in the country and has partnered with a number of media houses and government departments such as the Gauteng Tourism Authority to ensure the success of this year’s event.

This will be the 125th celebration of the Rand Show. The organisers are promising the best show ever with the introduction of new on-trend content.

This features a new Gaming Entertainment Pavilion, alongside a Fortnite gaming competition, in which visitors can walk away with over R100 000 in prize money.

The best cooks at the show can try their hand and recipes at the new public cooking reality show, Jacaranda Clash of Ages, and stand a chance to win R125 000.

Other new features include a talent show at Joburg’s Talent marquee, a beautifully presented SA Garden and Home Magazine Flower and Décor pavilion, and a Fashion, Beauty and Fitness Expo hosted by some of the biggest names in the world of fitness, such as Jaco de Bruyn.

The introduction of the Drum Majorette Gold Cup which will attract 1 400 competitors is set to be a part of the celebrations.

One lucky Rand Show ticket holder can drive away in a brand new car at this year’s 125th edition of the Rand Show in April.

See Irish sword swallower Murray Malloy, Cape Town’s famous Zip Zap Circus, visit the World of Motoring for all car enthusiasts, and adrenaline seekers can take on the new Zip Line in the Suzuki Adventure Zone.

Family favourites such as the thrilling rides in the amusement park and military display all return to this year’s show.
