Tribute show honours the ‘king of pop’

Globally acclaimed Michael Jackson Tribute show comes to Carnival City.

The globally acclaimed Michael Jackson tribute show, Michael Jackson HIStory, will be unleashed at Carnival City for the first time in January 2019.

The show is brought to South Africa by Showtime Management Australia and will venture to Gauteng for a one-night only show at the Big Top Arena on January 11, next year.

Selling out shows in South Africa, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and the United States, this international success is a show not to be missed.

Michael Jackson HIStory is a spellbinding musical biography that takes fans on a nostalgic journey of all of his greatest songs.

Hit after hit tells the story of one of the greatest pop icons the world has ever known.

The star of the show is one of the world’s best Jackson impersonators, Dantantio.

He will be accompanied by a lively six-piece band, backup dancers and a phenomenal lighting and effects team which will help amp up the experience for fans.

The show features 40 different customised costumes, 20 of which are for the Michael Jackson character alone.

Over 100 hours have been dedicated to the lighting design, which makes use of more than 160 moving lights and over 2 000 lighting cues, arranged to punctuate and enhance the musical elements of the show.

Performances include Billie Jean, Thriller, Smooth Criminal, Man in the Mirror, Black or White, Bad, ABC, Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough, Human Nature, Ben and many more.
