Radio Raps gets genuine at the Big Top Arena

The Big Top Arena will welcome Radio Raps on October 12.

Radio Raps, also known as “Jonathan van die Oos-Rand”, is no stranger to comedy lovers in South Africa and is back by popular demand to entertain fans at Carnival City.

He gets real at the Big Top Arena with his latest one-man show, Genuine, on October 12.

In his characteristic, no-holds-barred, tell-it-like-it-is style, he gets to the core of humankind’s vulnerabilities and idiosyncrasies, and what makes mankind a unique species.

“Genuine boys, we should really consider not taking ourselves so seriously,” he said.

Known for phrases such as Lekker boys, Da vat hy, Okeey and Olraait, Jonathan van die Oos-Rand emerged on the local entertainment scene when online radio station, Radio Raps posted some of his original material on YouTube.

Jonathan’s CD titled Da vat hy Vol 1, which is a collaboration of all his most popular jokes and stories, as well as new material, was released in August 2014.

In 2015, a DVD of his successful Life 101 show was released and has already reached gold status.

A second live performance, Life 201, was also recorded and released on DVD this year.

Nowadays he packs out venues across the country.

Catch him at the Big Top Arena at 8pm.
