Luthando Dekeni (aka Lolli) crowned the winner of Emtee’s Rap 4 Me talent show

The talent show Rap 4 Me, recently gave local rap artists from all over the country the opportunity to win R100 000 in cash, a year’s supply of clothing and a recording deal with Emtee’s record label, African Trap Movement.

Auditions were held in Gauteng, at the GauTV studios in Auckland Park, Pretoria and Carnival City, where 18 hopefuls were chosen to compete on the show.

The talented 10 finalists competed for the recording deal at the Goliath Comedy Club, in Melrose Arch, on April 10, 2018. The show’s two-part finale saw Luthando Dekeni (aka Lolli) crowned as the winner of season one.

The pre-recording of the show began early this year, when the contestants were put through a series of challenges, with each contestant seeking to impress the judges.

The judges included Emtee, Lebo and Emtee’s colleague Saudi.

The show, which is televised on GauTV (DStv), channel 265, every Tuesday at 20:00, is aimed at giving upcoming rappers a chance to showcase their skills.

“As a channel we really wanted to make sure we afford young rappers a platform to shine,” said Zallywood management.

Luthando Dekeni, took away the ultimate prize after three rounds of performances.

“I feel honoured and grateful for the opportunity. Also happy to have shared a stage with Emtee last night. Been working towards this moment since moving to Gauteng,” said Luthando Dekeni.
