Trallavelle to launch new music video

Music duo Trallavelle hopes to introduce talent scouts to East Rand music artists at their launch party.

Trallavelle, a music duo from Germiston made up of twins Kabelo and Keletso Moraba, who go by the stage names Papi and Major, signed a music deal with Rap Lyf Records in January last year.

Now they’re hoping to get musicians from the East Rand scouted by big industry executives at their music video launch party in March.

The duo describes the music they create as “energy music”, and upon returning from the Nice-Life Problems tour with other Rap Lyf artists last year, and performing to a crowd of 17 500 people, they were certain their style would make waves in the industry.

“We infused a lot of styles in our music, from jazz to trap, and we realised that there was a lot of energy and sounds going into our music, so that’s how we got to ‘energy music’,” Kabelo explained.

Rap Lyf Records, owned by rappers Kwesta and Kid X, has kept the duo busy with tours and music video shoots, and they’ve even found themselves in intimate creative spaces with international rap artists such as Wale and local musos Golden Black.

“We are grateful for the support we’ve received from our parents, and I’ll always be grateful to Kid X for his mentorship and the role he played in my songwriting skills,” said Keletso.

“Being around him and Kwesta has helped us prepare for fame and the effects of fame.”

Their music video launch for the song JB Smooth, featuring Golden Black of Mabala Noise, is titled Jungle Bunnies: The Party, and will be held at 94 Republic Road in Braamfontein on March 31.

The duo can be found on Instagram and Twitter using the handle @TrallavelleCE.
